The architects are just the people that put together masonry and roofing details or window and door dimensions (they have to know a bunch of stuff and really its more complicated than that, but, working at an engineering firm, most of them are known as people that work less than engineers and constantly skirt design responsibility i.e. So I suspect it's not as good as civil or these people weren't interested in working as mechanical engineers. But I have a passion for illustration. I would say that if you like maths/physics and you're strong at them then do engineering but if you more like the art/design aspects then do architecture. Everytime I think of all of these...such emotions...they just wanna explode.

Even a small structural engineering firm can diversify, working on a lot of different types of buildings.
